The Client
Bike Sport News is a fortnightly motorcycle racing newspaper available nationally.
BSN pride themselves on factual, informative coverage of motorcycles sport, from grass root Club level through to British Superbike, World Superbike and MotoGP.
Highly regarded for the quality of its news content and race results the paper has built up a loyal following over the past decade.
The Brief
With a well established paper publication BSN understood the need to move their business online. Like most newspapers they required a robust site that could be quickly and easily updated.
With a clear understanding of BSN's plans the project brief was structured around three core requirements:
- User centred design - intuitive and well structured,
- Powerful, responsive Content Management System (CMS) allowing easy management of content and news,
- Scalable and robust with a clear plan for future growth and expansion,
The Results
BikeSportNews.com launched on-time and on-budget having undergone a complete overhaul. The design underwent rigorous usability testing before being finalised.
Within two weeks of launch editorial staff had packed over 2000 articles onto the site with further content being continuously added.
The customised CMS has been incredibly successful proving to be robust, quick and easy-to-use with the minimum of training required.
With traffic levels steadily rising month on month, the site has developed a loyal audience of race enthusiasts and is set establish itself as one of the UK's leading online motorcycle publications.
